The updated mobile app is targeted at payers looking to offer members end-to-end mobile solutions, in addition to putting secure health plan information at the patient’s fingertips, on any mobile device they want to use.  Kony’s multi-channel platform supports 99% of mobile devices in use today, including Android, iPhone, BlackBerry, Windows, J2ME devices, HTML5, native or hybrid applications as well as older mobile web browsers.

Dubbed “Kony Mobile Health Plan,” the updated application enables health plan members and covered dependents to find an urgent care doctor or pharmacy, view plan details and benefits, track and manage claims, and compare different health plan options among other things.  Other new features include the ability to view graphical account summary and benefit details — including plan expense summary and account balance details by subscriber — as well as the ability for individual and group health plan shopping, price comparisons, and quotes.

“Due to the intuitive flow and completeness of our solution, our customers have experienced impressive app adoption and usage rates resulting in significant customer service cost savings,” said Ed Gross, Kony’s director of Product Management for Healthcare and Life Sciences.  ”With our versatile and completely configurable application and our ‘Write Once Run Everywhere’ platform, providers can get their apps to market at least 30% faster than developing in-house, at a lower cost.”

Kony continues to make huge strides in the mHealth application segment, with Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield North Carolina, Independence Blue Cross, and Intermountain Healthcare among its customers.  It also counts more than 70 of the Fortune 500 among its customers.
